Calculate additional points
With InRoads, you can Calculate Additional Points on an Alignment to report, track, and derive information about specific locations. Additional points can be used to record culvert crossings, specific template locations, or signage locations. Points are established by using station offsets or coordinates. You can create additional points on any line in your system, and they are available for use in a variety of applications.
Create a bonus grade item in D2L
There are two ways to add bonus points to a quiz or assignment in D2L Grades. Adding bonus points to a quiz or assignment automatically adds them to the final grade, or you can create a new bonus grade item for a certain amount of points. In D2L Grades, you must select the option “Can Exceed” in the category settings, as well as check the “Bonus” box.
Bonus grade items do not count toward the maximum points that a category or final grade can earn, and are added on top of the final grade. Bonus items are not consistent with the rest of a grade scheme, and students will not see them. When creating a bonus grade item, make sure that you check the “Can Exceed” option, as described above. Once you have checked this box, you can start creating your bonus grade item!
Find additional points in a parabola
To find additional points in a parabola, we need to know the angle between two tangents. If the line MP intersects the angle FPT, the tangent passes through the point P. In this way, we can find the tangents of the lines. We can also find the additional points in a parabola using directrix relations. This is the most common way to find additional points in a parabola.
In example three, you need to find the additional points in a parabola. If x=-1, you will have a value for y=-2. If x=+2, you’ll find that the y-intercepts are 7 and -1, respectively. The same holds true for y=-3. In the same way, y=+4 will give the additional points.
