The 2018 Ford Fusion is a four-door mid-size sedan that is many cars in one. It can be a basic sedan, a family sedan, an eco-friendly sedan, a luxury sedan, and even a high-performance sedan.
The 2018 Ford Fusion continues with no changes from the 2017
model. Items that were new for 2017 carry over to the 2018 Fusion, including adaptive
cruise control, a rotary shifter, and automatic stop/start.
The 2018
Ford Fusion is available in five different trim levels: S, SE, Titanium,
Platinum, and Sport. The Hybrid is available in S, SE, Titanium, and Platinum.
The Energi plug-in hybrid is available in SE, Titanium, and Platinum.
Standard equipment on every 2018 Ford Fusion is quite extensive. Inside, you get an automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes, split 60/40 fold-down seat back, air conditioning with particulate air filter, SYNC infotainment system, rotary gear shift dial, front center console with armrest, speed-sensitive wipers, hill start assist, illuminated sun visors, two 12V powerpoints, message center with trip computer, tilt/telescoping steering wheel with cruise and audio controls, push button start with keyless entry, and MyKey.
Outside, there’s aluminum alloy wheels, a capless fuel
filler, integrated blind spot side mirrors, LED taillamps, and solar tinted
glass, all standard on the 2018 Ford Fusion.
Five Different
Engines Provide the Power That’s Right for You
The 2018 Ford Fusion lets you choose from five different
engines, four gasoline and a gasoline-electric hybrid. The S and SE trims come
with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. A 1.5L EcoBoost
four-cylinder with 181 horsepower is optional on SE. The Fusion Titanium and
Platinum have a standard 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 245
horsepower. The Sport packs a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 with a whopping 325 horsepower.
Intelligent all-wheel drive is optional on SE and Titanium,
and standard on Sport.
The 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid and Energi plug-in hybrid models
have a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, combined with an electric
motor. Total system horsepower is 195 horsepower. The Energi model has a 21-mile
range on electric power only, and can recharge in seven hours at a 120V outlet,
and 2.5 hours at a 220V outlet.
EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2018 Ford Fusion is 17 to
43 MPG Ciy and 26 to 41 MPG Highway, depending on the engine and drive system selected.
The Energi plug-in hybrid has a 104 MPGe City and 91 MPGe Highway rating.*
