Unlike the typical economy car, the new Ford Fiesta looks more expensive than its actual price tag. The Fiesta’s surprisingly quick performance and excellent fuel efficiency make it a fun daily driver. Not only does the 2016 Fiesta offer Ford’s new Sync 3 infotainment system, but it can now be equipped with a sleek body kit. While the sedan version will appeal to a lot of people, the hatchback version provides an extra amount of cargo space.
With a total output of 120 horsepower and 112 lb.-ft. of torque, the base four-cylinder engine is the perfect match for the lightweight Fiesta. You can stick with the five-speed manual transmission or opt for the Powershift automatic transmission. An available Fuel Economy package helps the Fiesta to return up to 38 mpg.* If you desire even better gas mileage, opt for the smaller 1.0L EcoBoost engine. It can deliver a super-efficient 43 mpg on the highway.
While even the standard Fiesta is entertaining to drive, the high-performance ST model is the perfect alternative to a traditional sports car. Its turbocharged four-cylinder engine pushes out an exciting 197 horsepower and 202 lb.-ft. of torque. According to Road & Track, the potent hatchback takes only 6.7 seconds to hit 60 mph. Low-profile tires and a sports-tuned suspension further enhance the Fiesta ST’s driving dynamics.
The Fiesta’s enthusiastic styling makes it an unbeatable value. Featuring an exclusive set of black wheels and blacked-out exterior trim, the new Black package gives the Fiesta an intimidating appearance. Some of the tempting paint colors include Electric Spice, Molten Orange and Blue Candy.
On the inside, the Fiesta offers class-leading quality. Even the base model now comes standard with Sync Voice controls and a six-speaker sound system. Featuring a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, the Sync 3 infotainment system is far more responsive than the previous version. Meanwhile, the powerful Kicker subwoofer is a must-have feature for serious music fans. A set of Recaro sport seats are available for the racy ST model.
When tested by Edmunds, the Fiesta delivered one of the best braking performances in its class. While the standard 911 Assist function provides immediate emergency assistance, the optional rear-view camera ensures outstanding visibility.
